If You Want an Experience, Run a Half Marathon

Completing a half marathon is a notable achievement for the everyday runner and the running elite. We are proud to have runners come from all over the world to participate in this event. The First Midwest Bank Southwest Half Marathon is designed to allow our participants to run at their best with a flat, fast course with only three turns.

The 1/2 mile Walk, Run or Roll, coordinated by the South West Special Recreation Association for children with special needs, will occur on the main course immediately after the half marathon runners have left the starting line.

Pre-Race Information

Participants may pick up your packets and goody bags at the Palos Area Chamber Expo and Health Fair on May 5th from 9am to 3pm.

How The Race is Timed

Race results are based on chip timing (also known as RFID timing or transponder timing) for greatest accuracy.

Age Groups and Prizes

There will be 5 age group awards. Only one money prize per runner.

Male and Female Top 5 Finishers: 1st Prize - $1,000, 2nd Prize - $800, 3rd Prize - $700,
4th Prize - $600, 5th Prize - $500
Master 40 and Over Male and Female: 1st Prize - $500, 2nd Prize - $250, 3rd Prize - $100
Veterans 50 and Over Male and Female: 1st Prize - $250, 2nd Prize - $100, 3rd Prize - $75

The 13.1 Post-Race Celebration and Goody Bags

We are fortunate to have a great local band come every year to celebrate your achievement. You will also have access to multiple vendors and sponsor booths. You will also receive a goody bag with a gender-specific Nike technical shirt and a variety of give aways and coupons!
