May the Course Be With You...
"No marathon gets easier later. The half way point only marks the end of the beginning."
- Joe Henderson
The First Midwest Half Marathon is considered a Chicago Area Runners Association preferred race, and that has a great deal to do with the beauty and conditions of the course. The First Midwest Half Marathon race route weaves through gorgeous forest paths and flat pavement through the cities of Palos Heights, Palos Park and Palos Hills.

Mile Markers and Display Clocks
Race founder Mel Diab knows what runners want, and a huge aspect of that is to know how they are progressing. Runners will have 10 display clocks through the race and 13 mile markers.
There will be 8 water stations located along the course route.
Along the route runners will have access to 40 restrooms (with 8 on the course).
There will be two medical tents set up along the route, provided by Loyola University Medical School.
Course EntertainmentA half marathon is worth celebrating! Runners will enjoy a bash after the race in their honor and in honor of our beneficiaries, complete with music and beer.
